Independent Telephone Network, Inc. (ITN, Inc.) is a family-owned business that also operates as a dba, HB DISTRIBUTORS and is located in Chatsworth, California.  The organization primarily operates in the Telecommunication Equipment and Hand Tools arenas.  HB DISTRIBUTORS was established in 1976. Independent Telephone Network, Inc. was Incorporated in 1982 and is a WBE/SBA Certified Corporation.

As a Wholesale Supply House to Professional Telecommunication, Data, Audio/Video, Home Theater and Security trades also selling Hand Tools to Independent Tool Stores, the company is celebrating its 48^th year in business.  We also are a direct seller to Government agencies on the Local, State and Federal level and their contractors and are happy to consult on products for bids if the need arises.

HB DISTRIBUTORS is the Bridge between the Manufacturer and Our Customers (the Retailers, Installation Companies and Installers).  The business is based on new and long-term relationships between us and our customers, not each individual transaction.  One of our goals is to make doing business with HB DISTRIBUTORS easy.  You're not just a customer number to us. Another goal is to stock and sell the top-quality products in your trade.

History:

HB DISTRIBUTORS first went in business in 1976 started by Howard and Pam Branner.  The business originally specialized in Decorator Telephone, Answering Machine and Accessories.  Catering to a new and emerging resale market based in the new Telecommunication Channel, the primary customers were Answering Machine Stores, Furniture Stores, Decorator, Antique Stores, Hotel Gift Shops and the Motion Picture and TV Industry (for props).  All this took place before Judge Harold Green began presiding over an antitrust case the FCC filed against AT&T.  I personally don't think our company and a small group of like-minded regional Telephone Distributors had anything to do with the breakup of AT&T.  But - it did open many doors in the Wholesale and Consumer Electronics Marketplace.

HB DISTRIBUTORS started manufacturing reproductions of SOLID BRASS Candlestick Telephone, in May 1977.  In the late 70' Howard started visiting existing customers and the new "mom and pop" telephone stores, in a 1950 classic panel delivery truck.  In 1981, we started the change-over from carrying Consumer to Industrial products by selling Telephone Hand Tools and Test Equipment to Telephone, Alarm installers and the Cable TV installation trades which continues to make up our customer base.

HB DISTRIBUTORS started selling Telephone Business Systems, in 1983.

HB DISTRIBUTORS became one of the first Plantronics Wholesale Distributors after the modular plug (4P4C) was added to the headset base, in 1985.

When the opportunity came up, in 1997, ITN, Inc. bought Contractors Purchasing Association Inc., a telemarketing tool company.  After a few years, we liquidated the off-brand tool lines inventory and kept the brand names to sale through HB DISTRIBUTORS, and still sell many of those brands today.
